Hope WINS...What I Need to Succeed
MAC Lab is an after-school tutoring and support opportunity for Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade students at Jones-Farrar Magnet School. Students stay after school from 3:45–5:30 PM, generally Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, for extra support with reading, math, social-emotional skills, and more. We mix learning with mentoring, hands-on activities, movement, friendships, and plenty of fun.
MAC Lab is free for families and enrollment is by teacher referral. This session serves 20 students and runs through Christmas break, with parent or guardian pickup at 5:30 PM.
Our goal is for every MAC Lab student to build skills, gain confidence, and leave believing, “I can do this!”
MAC Lab is made possible in part through grant funding from the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois.
This is just the beginning! More information and opportunities will be added as we continue to learn, grow, and develop MAC Lab to meet the needs of students and families.
