Hope WINS...What I Need to SucceedParent Support Group
Parenting can be challenging, but parenting a child with special needs comes with unique joys and difficulties that are often hard to share with others who haven’t walked a similar path. That’s why the Hope WINS Parent Support Group, co-facilitated by Easterseals Rockford and Hope WINS, was created to provide a safe, welcoming, and understanding space for parents and caregivers. This intimate group meets on the last Tuesday of every month at 6:00 PM at Grace Episcopal Church, 10 S Cherry Ave in Freeport, Illinois.
During each meeting, participants have the opportunity to share both the triumphs and trials of their parenting journeys, trade helpful resources, and build a meaningful support network. Vulnerability is welcomed, and every story is honored. Though the group is centered on the experiences of parents and caregivers of individuals with special needs, it is open to all caregivers who are seeking connection, understanding, and community. Whether you’re a veteran parent or just beginning your journey, this space is designed to uplift and empower.
Light refreshments are served, and childcare is provided by the compassionate and trained staff of Hope WINS, allowing parents to be fully present. By fostering open dialogue, emotional support, and resource-sharing, the Parent Support Group continues to grow into a place of healing and hope—where no one has to walk this path alone.
